What is a Void Transaction?

void transaction is a transaction that is canceled before it settles through a consumer’s debit or credit card account. When a transaction is voided, it shows up as a pending transaction on the customer’s account for a short period of time, while the process is being completed.

How to manage Void Transactions in Authorize.Net Payment Gateway For WooCommerce?

You can void transactions directly in WooCommerce if,

In Authorization mode you can void when the transaction has been authorized but not yet captured. & In Charge mode you can void transaction when the it is not settled. for example, on cases where funds haven’t been transferred from the customer’s account to your Authorize.Net account. This plugin do not allow partial voids. If a transaction is not eligible to be voided, you have to refund it.

About Void Transaction Support.

You can Void a Transaction with same process as refund in WooCommerce. Void occurs when transactions are not captured but they are authorized. For Authorize.Net payment gateway void occurs when the transaction is authorized and captured but have not settled in the payment gateway account. If the funds are not transferred then you cannot process a refund. Default WooCommerce shows “Refund via Credit Card” as the text on a void of transaction bill. It will void the authorized charge in the payment gateway.

Charge is voided from Order Note. Cancelled order status means the order is voided, not refunded. If you need to only remit part of the order, either edit the order before capturing the charge, or capture the payment then refund part of it. You cannot partially void an order. You have to void the complete order otherwise you may see a message like this,

Oops, you cannot partially void this order. Please use the full order amount.
